On December 5, 2008 U.S. News & World Report recognized Yonkers High School with the GOLD MEDAL AWARD ranking YHS #37 among the Best High Schools in the Nation!!!

Yonkers International Baccalaureate High School is ranked 37th in the just released U.S. News & World Report's annual list of the top 100 high schools in America, and first among the high schools of Westchester County. In a double honor for the school, Newsweek and the Washington Post ranked Yonkers High School among the top 100 in the nation last spring.
This is the second year of the US News study of American high schools. The inaugural study awarded Yonkers High School a bronze rating.
US News analyzed 21,069 public high schools in 48 states, up from 18,790 schools in 40 states last year. The magazine analyzed student performance, compared math and reading proficiency rates with statewide results, and examined how well the students performed on rigorous Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams.
The R.A.C.C.O.O.N Club [Raising Awareness Collectively Concerning Our Ozone- layer and Natural- environment] is an organization that not only looks to recycle bottles and cans but to also educate those who are not aware of the dangers of not recycling. PLEASE support this organization not only for us, the club, but for the future of our school and environment!!
